Likewise! I was so stressed and it turned out to be a great experience!

Glad to hear workshop went well! I'm also glad it was a contrast to how your MFA ones worked-- I'm in a poetry one for the first time and it's a doozy!

It can be challenging but ultimately rewarding! Good luck in workshop!

Serendipity here for sure.

My Therapist has recommended I find and follow thru with this exact experience! It would be my first, and my anxiety is definitely wanting to drive the bus in my brain. Very grateful for you and your insight and accomplishment!

Writing workshops, to me, increase my anxiety because I want to provide good feedback but feel I have nothing important to say. Maybe I don’t give myself enough credit. At least I didn’t have to go back on anxiety meds!

My therapist often suggests doing things outside my comfort zone no matter how hard it is. It’s always been a rewarding experience. Even my failures are something to learn from.

You were/are brave to push yourself! Inspiration for me as it’s still too intimidating plus resource intensive to jump into a workshop😿 but so glad it was such a good experience for you!

Congratulations!

I’ve been developing my memoir with a weekly read-and-critique class. Learning so much, least of all how to be humble and go back to the drawing board.

You mentioned using hearing aids. I have a friend who uses them and we took sign language classes. It was so fun!
