Iβm not diagnosed bipolar but various other mental illnesses instead. I do the exact same thing with hobbies. I was obsessed with knitting for several years then gave it up for a decade (but I kept some of the yarn!). Then a couple of years ago itβs like one day I suddenly remembered I loved to knit again and threw myself into it and acquired tons more yarn. Now itβs on the back burner but I do pick it up for long car journeys etc. I hope Iβm not going into another 10 year knitting lapse.
Barb- Thanks for sharing this, especially for sharing Rudy. It being accompanied by a deeper topic is also a lovely find today. Hope you're well this week. Cheers, -Thalia
A temperature blanket is a lovely idea. I canβt wait to see your progress on this long-term project! I remember doing my first knitting project 15 years ago, a beanie, during one of my lowest times. Despite its uneven stitches and errors, I found the process incredibly therapeutic, and I still wear it today
My work definitely isnβt perfect, but like you said, itβs therapeutic. In July I plan to post another picture about the temperature blanket as it will be 50% done. I posted in Notes when it was 25% finished.
Love this! I'm like you - so many hobbies, so little time. Love how you did a voiceover. That's my next step in my Substack. I was horrified with the auto-narration which butchered my name, and all the Ilocano and Filipino words.
Itβs horrible, a disembodied voice that makes me cringe. I wonder if you can see it on your side. On you phone app, it would be the play button at the top right. With yours, itβs your voice because you narrated it. I still need to do mine.
I use Voice Memo on my iPhone and save the file to the cloud. Then when I add it to a post I click on the button that looks like headphones and choose voiceover or audio embed (Iβve used both but Iβm not sure if thereβs a difference) and then upload the file.

It probably isnβt limited to people with bipolar. Iβm just glad Iβm not the only one!

I didnβt realize Substack had auto-narration.

I will do that! Seems simple enough.
Itβs a lot easier than it sounds.
